Become a Volunteer

Hello,

We have switched to online applications. This will allow you to create a login, enter all your information and then just update the information from year to year instead of starting over each year.  You do need to have all of your personal, medical & insurance information on hand because you cannot save a partial application then pick-up where you left off.

If you would like for us to snail mail you a copy, please call or email me at the contact info below.

Applications are due April 1st, 2012. If you know of any possible new volunteers, please forward this email to them or give me their contact information. More help is always appreciated.  We are very excited about this year’s camp and have chosen to do a water based theme. We’re planning on seeing lots of new faces and of course a whole lot of returning ones!

Camp this year will be June 9 – 15, 2012. Please mark these dates on your calendar now and note that we are ending on a Saturday! As usual, camp will be held at the Camp Powderfork campgrounds in Bald Knob, AR.

The Volunteer Training will be April 28th or May 19th at the campgrounds. Please mark on the application which date you will be attending. The check-in will start at 8:30 Saturday morning and training for all volunteers will begin promptly at 9:00 and will end at 6:00pm. You may come Friday night if you don’t want the early morning drive. This training is mandatory for anyone who is to be staying at camp. The training program will inform you of medical, social, and psychological needs of our campers, our program, and Camp Quality itself. You will learn about what it means to be a companion and what staff positions are available. Your attendance at the workshop will also give you an opportunity to meet the rest of the companions and staff that will be new to us this year. We will NOT be holding a make-up training in June this year.

No camper or staff assignments will be made until after the training session. This will allow you more time to get familiar with the program and know where you might want to help out. It will also give us a chance to meet you and get to know where you might fit into our camp the best.

If you have any questions about the training session or camp, please get in touch with me by phone or email! I will be glad to talk it over with you. Camp is a wonderful experience and very fun! The children will change your life forever.
