Companion Information
For every child/camper who registers with our program, a one-on-one companion is assigned. Being a companion is extremely rewarding and many companions have served for several years. As a Companion, You offer friendship and love to a boy or girl through fun activities. By committing a little time, you can bring a great deal of joy into a young life. A companion’s dedication and commitment is the backbone of our program. A companion is expected to have fun and to fully participate in all the activities their assigned camper chooses and to be a positive role model for the camper.

Companion Requirements:
At least 18 years of age at camp time.
Provide two (2) references.
Pass a "Police Record Check".
Complete a face to face interview in the Kansas City area.
Complete a full day of Training in July, this is usually on a Saturday.
A Few Things to Consider before Beginning the Application Process
- Collect as much information as possible before sitting down to complete the application.
-Insurance card and pertinent medical information
- You must have an email to complete the application on-line.
-College and University emails can not be accepted.
- If you don’t have time to complete the application in one setting, complete the required fields and submit the application. You can go back later and fill in the missing pieces, using your email and password.
- Once the Application is complete you will want to remember your Username and Password. If you will be a returning volunteer in 2013 the application process will be much quicker because it will save your 2012 information.
- When the application asks which camp you want to attend you will select GKC.
*STAFF*
A wide variety of staff are required for every camp. Volunteers are needed in areas such as crafts, dorm parents, and special programs.

*JR STAFF*
Each camping session we need several Jr. Staff members to help keep our camp running smoothly. To be a Jr. Staff member you must be 16 or 17 years of age before the camping session begins. If you would like to volunteer as Jr. Staff please contact Kenny Branson Here.
You must fill out a paper application and have your parent or legal guardian sign it for you. We are sorry that at this time you will be unable to fill out the online application.
