Press Release
Camp Quality USA to bring CAMP IN in place of traditional summer Camp
Camp Quality USA, an organization that serves children with cancer and blood disorders has made the very difficult decision to cancel our traditional summer camp programs for all our locations. The health and safety of our campers and volunteers is our top priority and we simply cannot take the risk of COVID-19 exposure.
We know how much our summer programs mean to campers and volunteers. So, as an alternative, we are happy to announce that we are offering a CAMP IN program this year where children can participate from home. We are excited to continue to serve our families while keeping them safe.
Each child will receive a backpack filled with daily activity cards and associated materials, including art and nature exploration supplies, a camp t-shirt and a journal. Additionally, our staff will provide online experiences, with live streams and recorded sessions during the week of our Michigan camps: TEEN Camp: June 19-22, SIBLING Camp: June 22-27, SOUTH Camp: July 19-24, and NORTH Camp: July 27-Aug.1, 2020. The virtual camp experience will follow this year’s theme “Outrageous Courageous” and incorporate many of our camp traditions, such as flag-raising, talent shows and campfires.
The CAMP IN program provides an opportunity for us to come together as a community to share hope and laughter during these uncertain times. As with all Camp Quality programs, CAMP IN is offered at no cost to families. If you or someone you know has a child with cancer or a blood disorder, please share this information with them, and direct them to our website www.campqualityusa.org/mi to register for our CAMP IN program.
