March 12, 2020
Dear Parents, Campers and Staff,
I want to assure you that we at Camp Quality are closely monitoring the coronavirus situation using resources provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Children’s Oncology Camping Association, American Camping Association, and especially our local public health agency. Your safety is our top priority and any decisions regarding postponing or cancelling Camp Quality events will be made on that basis. We will communicate any changes in scheduling with you as this situation evolves, and encourage you to communicate your thoughts and concerns with us. At this time in Michigan we do not have any camp activities scheduled until camp season starts in June.
To reinforce the CDC recommendations:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Put distance between yourself and other people when out in the community.
As we get closer to scheduled camp weeks we will have a better idea of how we will proceed.
Again, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our campers and volunteers.
Sincerely,
Jean McDonough FNP-BC
Camp Quality Michigan
