Our application window opens in February and runs through mid-July. During this time, you will receive emails from us if we have any questions about your application and with reminders for upcoming dates and events. After the application window has closed, the following will occur:
- All volunteers must complete training.
- New volunteers must complete an interview.
- Reference checks will be completed.
- Background checks will be performed.
Once we have verified that the above are completed, we will assign volunteers to positions. This is done the week following the last in-person training. Based on your application and interview, those who want to be a Companion will be paired with a Camper and those who want to be on Staff will be placed into staff positions. It is possible that some volunteers may be wait-listed. After our internal process is completed, we will email you with your Camper’s information or your Staff position!
Please Note: We are closely monitoring SARS-CoV-2 developments and safety is our top priority. For 2020 programming, we are assigning only former volunteers to activities that involve direct camper interaction online. However if you would like to create and contribute pre-recorded videos (i.e. instructionals, crafts/games, outdoor adventure segments) to add to our programming or would like to volunteer to help deliver summer camp-packs, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
