Testimonials

Camp Quality has changed my life in multiple ways. The opportunity to get to know the amazing, inspiring campers, follow their stories, and provide them a week of fun for them to get away from their battle with cancer is one that I would recommend to anybody. After a week of fun activities and memories that I will have for the rest of my life, I leave camp every year with my crazy-colored hair and arms full of random tattoos, and I immediately cannot wait until next year’s camp.

Thank you Camp Quality.  For me, it was a profound experience. For a moment in time, we had our own little paradise community that took us back to the basics. It took us away from the constant cell phone and technology usage that so often disconnect us from the world right in front of us. We were able to share real conversations, meals, music, play time, and much more together. Back to the basics where 9-square, Uno, and feets up time are all it takes to put a big smile on your face. We learned a lot and gained new friendships. You don’t need to go to a summer blockbuster to see a hero. Micah said it best, we had superheroes all around us.

My daughter truly had the time of her life. She hadn’t been feeling well in the weeks leading up to camp and we were worried about letting her go. But the growing excitement about going to camp was associated with her feeling better and better. She had such a wonderful week at camp and had so much fun getting a break from all the adults in her life and really got to just be a kid instead of a patient. We were at ease knowing the cancer care team was with her the whole time making sure she was safe. Many families struggle financially during this journey, and we would never have been able to afford to send her to any other general camp, nor would we have been comfortable doing that.

Camp Quality gives us all the chance to feel like we are “normal” being around families who have gone through the same things, and most of all gives my child some independence and for her to know she’s not alone.  Thank you so much for giving her the best week of her life.

I wanted you to know what a terrific time my daughters had and thank you for allowing them to come. I especially want to thank the nurses.  You did an excellent job in pairing the campers and companions. We got together the week before camp to have lunch and that was EXTREMELY comforting to me, to be able to meet them and know them a little bit was great. You did an outstanding job putting all of this together. My daughter plans on coming back next year and hopefully her companion will too! We look forward to more CQ events in the future! Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

The amount of love, laughter, and sense of family surrounding the entire week of camp is intoxicating.

My four years at CQ were four of the best summers I have ever had. I often think back to those times at camp and smile. Now that I am done with school and working a “real” job hopefully life will get back to normal… (somewhat I mean no one knows better than us survivors that no ones life is normal) and I’d love to be a companion. CQ holds a special place in the hearts of so many survivors and our families and will for years to come…that alone brings a smile to my face and a warm feeling to my heart.
